Capacity Cash Assistance Training Held within the “Humanitarian Voluntarism for Solidarity Activities” Project

Within the framework of the project “Humanitarian Voluntarism for Solidarity Activities,” a Capacity Building Training on Cash Assistance in humanitarian interventions was successfully conducted. This training is part of broader efforts to strengthen the knowledge and capacities of organizations and individuals working in the field of humanitarian response and volunteering.

The project is implemented by Philanthropy within a three-year initiative launched at the beginning of 2024. It is carried out through an international consortium bringing together seven organizations from Serbia, European Union countries, and Africa, with the aim of promoting solidarity among communities and strengthening volunteering at an international level.

During the Cash Assistance training, participants had the opportunity to become familiar with key principles and modern approaches in humanitarian cash assistance programming. The training covered market assessment, different cash transfer modalities, beneficiary selection, risk management, the application of the “Do No Harm” principle, as well as the monitoring and evaluation of cash assistance programs. The training included interactive sessions, practical examples, and discussions that enabled participants to connect theoretical knowledge with real-life field situations. Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experiences among participants, contributing to a better understanding of challenges and good practices in the humanitarian sector.

Through this training, participants strengthened their knowledge of contemporary humanitarian approaches that enable more efficient, flexible, and dignified support for affected populations, especially in crisis situations.

Project partners include Merhamet Sandžak, ADRA Slovakia, ADRA Czech Republic, ADRA Serbia, Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, Uganda Pioneers, and ADRA Zambia, further strengthening international cooperation and knowledge exchange in humanitarian work.

The project “Humanitarian Voluntarism for Solidarity Activities” continues to contribute to the development of volunteering, the capacity building of organizations, and the improvement of support systems for vulnerable groups through innovative and sustainable approaches.
