Empowering Young People Through Volunteering
At the beginning of 2024, Philanthropy began implementing a three-year project within the European Solidarity Corps programme, with the support of the European Union. The project is implemented through a consortium bringing together seven organizations from Serbia, the European Union, and Africa, with the aim of promoting volunteering and strengthening solidarity among communities.
As a certified organization for working with volunteers, Philanthropy is engaging three international volunteers within the framework of the project and continues to actively implement numerous activities. Over the course of the project, a total of 24 volunteers are planned to be engaged, providing support in various host countries.
At the beginning of this year, volunteer Marina Braga from France joined Philanthropy as a Fundraising Assistant. During her engagement, Marina will have the opportunity to learn more about fundraising for humanitarian activities, strengthening organizational capacities, identifying new funding opportunities, and improving strategies for the long-term sustainability of our programs. Through the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices from the international environment, we expect further strengthening of our organization and increased support for our beneficiaries.
As part of her engagement, the volunteer will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the projects implemented by Philanthropy in Belgrade, as well as in Ruma, Kraljevo, and Kragujevac. In cooperation with the Belgrade-based team, activities are planned in the areas of developing donor initiatives, communication with partners, and improving the visibility of our work, with a special focus on social impact and the development of the services we provide.
In the coming period, the arrival of an additional volunteer is expected, which will further strengthen the team and expand capacities for the implementation of field-based and educational activities.
Volunteering represents the core of the project and one of the key values fostered by Philanthropy. By involving young people from different countries, the project promotes solidarity, knowledge exchange, and the development of a humanitarian spirit. At the same time, the development of fundraising activities enables more sustainable project financing and greater accessibility of assistance to those who need it most.
We believe that this cooperation will contribute not only to the development of our organization but also to strengthening volunteerism and the exchange of experience in the field of social support and humanitarian work. By combining volunteer engagement with strategic fundraising, Philanthropy continues to build a strong network of solidarity and contribute to positive social change, in line with the values promoted by the European Solidarity Corps.
