Strengthening psychosocial support services and legal counseling for people living with HIV / AIDS - second phase

Within the project "Strengthening psychosocial support services and legal counseling for people living with HIV / AIDS - second phase", implemented in cooperation with the German organization Brot fur die Welt, and with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), via thе Protestant Association for Cooperation in Development (EZE), Philanthropy continues to provide support to people living with HIV / AIDS, through counseling in the areas of social and legal protection, assistance in cases of stigma and discrimination, as well as direct humanitarian support to people living with HIV / AIDS. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Philanthropy is not able to organise gatherings with beneficiaries within the same intensity as prior to pandemic, but regular contact is preserved via mobile applications. Philanthropy’s Volunteers' Team visits semi mobile and immobile beneficiaries, as well as people living with HIV/AIDS who have a disability. For those exposed to poverty, Philanthropy provides hygiene and food kits. With its long-term partners (Institute of Public Health of Serbia, Clinics for Infectious Diseases in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Kragujevac, USOP, DPNSEE, etc.), Philanthropy actively collaborates and advocates for improving the position of people living with HIV / AIDS in Serbia. On the occasion of 1 December, the International AIDS Day, seven local governments (Subotica, Novi Sad, Sabac, Zajecar, Nis and Novi Sad and the Belgrade municipality Stari Grad) joined the cities of Kragujevac and Sombor and Belgrade municipality Zvezdara and signed the Paris Declaration – Fast Track Cities: Ending the AIDS Epidemic (https://www.unaids.org/.../20141201_Paris_Declaration_en.pdf). The signatories pledged to step up their efforts to combat HIV / AIDS in their local communities.
